A list of twelve kibbles that are commonly availiable online and in pet stores for your ferret, with the first listed the best and the last listed the worst you can get in the kibble world. In each description the product name is listed as is the first 3 or 4 ingredients, percentage of crude protein and fat and whether or not that product contains by-products or corn

*It is usually advised to make a mix of 2-3 brands of kibble just in case you run out of one, or your store stops stocking it.

*All foods can be found at:

I recommend only using the top 3-5 brands of kibble

Notice that this is for ferret kibble only. kitten, dog, puppy and cat kibbles are not taken into account.

List is based on my own personal research, charts found online and other forums about different kibbles and is based on the amount of protein, fat, and the first 3 ingredients of each brand.

In the cases of the Dr. Fosters and Smith and The Ferret Store Superior choice both of the 'original' formulas have been omitted because the natural formulas are considered improvements on the original formula.

In the cases of Kaytee and Totally ferret only the most 'popular' formula is listed. Please PM me if you'd like the stats on the Totally ferret older or baby formulas.

Did you look into EVO ferret food? It tends to be a favorite kibble, from what I've seen on other forums. I have yet to try it, my last group was already on raw when i got them, so I didn't have to look into different kibbles. No that I know what to look for, this one seems like an excellent kibble.

Not sure how to post links on here yet, but heres the website.

my ferts didn't like it......but i had a problem with that brand anyway. i bought a bag at petsmart in nc and it turned out to be rancid!! it was dated over two years ago!!!!!!! when i called zupreem, they blamed it on petsmart, but never offered to replace it. they told me to go back to the store, even though they knew it was a 60 mile round trip for me. the store refunded the money, but acted like they thought it had been in my trunk all that time! i check dates carefully now!

zupreem is an ok brand. its a great thing that it doesnt have any byproducts or corn, but there are better brands out there. i would suggest mixing zupreem with something else like the 8-1 ultimate.
